EXCLUSIVE: Ananya Panday to feature in Zoya Akhtar’s next directorial
Ananya Panday is presently working with Deepika Padukone and Gully Boy actor Siddhant Chaturvedi for Shakun Batra’s untitled next. She will also be seen in Liger opposite Vijay Deverakonda.
Zoya Akhtar had made her directorial debut with the Farhan Akhtar and Konkona Sen Sharma starrer Luck By Chance in 2009, and the film recently marked it’s 12th anniversary on January 30. Her last feature was Gully Boy which had Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead. It received a lot of love from all the quarters, and was also selected as India’s official entry for the Best International Feature Film at the Oscars. We now hear that the filmmaker is gearing up for her next directorial outing.
Pinkvilla has learnt that Zoya will collaborate with Ananya Panday for her next. This is the first time that the actor and filmmaker will be collaborating for a project. “The film is presently in the pre-production stage so nothing much is known about it except for the fact that Zoya and Ananya have agreed to work together. Ananya is a big fan of Zoya and is looking forward to working with the filmmaker. The movie is expected to roll sometime this year,” informs a source close to the development. An official announcement of the film should be expected soon. 
Meanwhile, Ananya is presently working with Zoya’s Gully Boy actor Siddhant Chaturvedi in Shakun Batra’s untitled next. Produced by Karan Johar, the film also features Deepika Padukone in the lead and is presently being shot in Mumbai. It’s first schedule had begun in Goa in 2020. Ananya will also be seen in Puri Jagannadh’s Liger alongside South superstar Vijay Deverakonda.
