EXCLUSIVE: Did Dinesh Vijan get Shraddha Kapoor to turn down Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2?
Apparently, the filmmaker wasn't too happy with the idea of Shraddha doing another horror comedy, after Stree.
Last year's biggest sleeper hit that took everyone by a huge surprise had to be Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Stree. The entire team, along with the producers Dinesh Vijan and Raj & DK, were praised for the film. But a serious fallout between the two co-producers led to the sequel being put on hold for sometime now.
Meanwhile, like we had told you, Shraddha Kapoor was definitely offered the lead part in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. But despite loving the role and the script, she had to turn it down. Why? A source reveals, "Shraddha was extremely keen on doing Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. She even had the dates to shoot for it next year, after wrapping Baaghi 2. But the moment her producer friend Dinu heard she's toying with the idea of signing BB 2, he picked up the phone and asked her not to do the film."
While a lot of people might wonder why Dinu did that, our khabri explains, "He didn't want Shraddha to do another franchise film in the same horror comedy space. They are trying to mount Stree 2 sometime towards the later half of 2020 and he wanted to avoid the clash. Shraddha, who is extremely close to Dinu, stood by her friend and obliged. She politely declined the offer." And Shraddha's loss was Kiara Advani's gain. After delivering a blockbuster like Kabir Singh, the talented actress will now pair up with Kartik Aaryan and reunite with the producers of her last film Murad Khetani and Bhushan Kumar.
