EXCLUSIVE: Meghna Gulzar REACTS to reports of Alia Bhatt's Raazi having a sequel

Meghna Gulzar's Raazi starring Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal is touted to be one of the biggest successes for everyone, be it Alia, Vicky or Meghna herself. The movie went on to collect over 200 crores worldwide. With such a stupendous response, reports suggested that Gulzar is planning a sequel to Sehmat's story. In an EXCLUSIVE chat with Pinkvilla, when asked to react on the reports, Meghna quashed the rumours saying for her, Sehmat and her journey was over with Raazi.

She said, "No, I think a sequel to the book is coming out, that would be the starting point for whatever has to begin (sequel) if it happens. Right now, I have other films in mind. For me, as a filmmaker, what we wrote in Raazi completed Sehmat’s journey." Well, for now, there is definitely no sequel on cards but you never know! For those unversed, Raazi was based on the book called, Calling Sehmat, which was written by Harinder Sikka.

Currently, Meghna has wrapped up Chhapaak which stars Deepika Padukone and Vikrant Massey in lead roles. The movie chronicles the life of acid attack survivor, Laxmi Agarwal. The movie releases on January 10, 2020, and has been shot extensively in Mumbai and Delhi. Apart from this, Meghna just announced her next movie which will star Vicky Kaushal in the lead role. The movie will see Vicky play the role of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. Vicky's look as Sam has left everyone surprised already.
