EXCLUSIVE: As Uri completes 100 days and Vicky Donor 7 years, Yami Gautam’s celebration is doubled
The star of Vicky Donor and URI: The Surgical Strike, Yami Gautam is on cloud nine. Today marks the completion of 7 years of her debut Vicky Donor and 100 days of URI: The Surgical Strike and it is a great co-incidence for her.
One of the biggest hits of 2019 was URI: The Surgical Strike starring Vicky Kaushal and Yami Gautam. Based on the surgical strike of 2016, URI starred Yami as an intelligence officer much different from her earlier image of a girl-next-door in Vicky Donor. But, both characters helped Yami to establish herself in the industry. Besides URI, Vicky Donor was also among the path-breaking films based on the relevant issue of infertility and sperm donation. Yami starred in this Shoojit Sircar’s film with Ayushmann Khurrana and it was one of the biggest hits of that year.
URI and Vicky Donor have achieved a remarkable feat. URI will be completing 100 days in theatres on April 22, while Vicky Donor completes 7 years today. It is a moment of double celebration for Yami Gautam as both the films have not only been content-driven but have commercially done very well. Yami is ecstatic about having started with a film as successful as Vicky Donor.
Speaking about her happiness exclusively, Yami said, “It’s been a great year so far. Today is the day, when Vicky Donor was released 7 years ago, and what a momentous coincidence that it also is the 100th of URI at the theatres. Both these films have truly etched a very important place in my career and I couldn’t be more happy to have this day to celebrate these two amazing successes. I’m thankful to Shoojit Da to have given me my first film and what a great debut to have and now Aditya Dhar for having me cast in a role people haven’t seen me do before. These two projects have been such tremendous successes and I’m grateful that I have two reasons to be in a celebratory mood for.” 
URI was helmed by Aditya Dhar, while Vicky Donor was directed by Shoojit Sircar. URI released in January and is among the blockbuster films of 2019. Vicky Kaushal’s role of the army officer and Yami Gautam’s as an intelligence officer was loved by the audiences. In Vicky Donor, Yami played Vicky’s wife who tackles the problem of infertility. Both films gave the audiences a massive dosage of entertainment and still are continuing to do so.
