Indian film industry lost one of the most talented and phenomenal actresses, Sridevi, this year in February. Her untimely death left a sudden void in the film industry and her for her family which cannot be filled. On the night of February 24, 2018, Sridevi lost her life due to accidental drowning in tub of their hotel bathroom in Dubai. Tomorrow marks Sridevi's first birthday after her demise and in order to honour the legendary actress, the Bollywood Art Project is building an 18ft tall mural painting of Sridevi on a building wall on Chapel Road, Bandra, Mumbai. This project is being headed by expert Ranjit Dahiya along with skilled artists Kunal Dahiya, Bidisha Biswas, Arushu and Richa. The reference for the painting is Sridevi's look from the film Gurudev.

Talking about Sridevi's painting, the work on the painting has begun for an 18x18 feet tall mural on a building in Bandra, Mumbai. All the artists working on it are toiling day and night to complete the painting as soon as possible. They are planning to finish it by August 13th and have an official inaugural but it all depends upon the rains which continue to lash the city of Mumbai.

When Pinkvilla got in touch with late Sridevi's husband Boney Kapoor, the proud husband called Sridevi not a hero but a legend and said not a minute goes by when the family doesn’t miss her. Boney Kapoor expressed, "There are heroes and then there are legends, heroes get remembered but legends never die’ Sri lives with us every day.. not a minute goes by when we don’t miss her.. thank u for this honour.. Boney, Jahnvi & Khushi.."

Bollywood Art Project are also the reason we see Amitabh Bachchan splashed on a tall building when on the way to Bandra- Worli Sea Link.  This mural painting was built for megastar Amitabh Bachchan on his 75th birthday. Talking about Sridevi, the actor was last seen in the film Mom (2017). Her last film will be Shah Rukh Khan's Zero as she has a special appearance in it.

In her career, the actress has given numerous hits and along with Bollywood, she has been a part of many South Indian films. Needless to say we miss her dearly!

I want to travel to India to see this. I love sridevi

Feel sorry for legends like Sridevi who are posthumously awarded with awards and murals for 50 years of their contribution to Indian Cinema out of 54 years of their life and on the other hand, just a couple of days ago, a nepo kid (who isn't even barely good looking) gets her first high end Fashion Mag cover even before facing the camera! It is so disrespectful for all the hard work that superstars like Sridevi, Madhuri and the likes have put in over the decades to gain whatever recognition they have got!

The real problem in the film industry (not just hindi) is that it is rare for a director/producer to make a heroine movie. Rare to give female actors a good and strong role. From 2012 to 2017, Sridevi did only 2 movies, why? Which other talented senior actresses have done any good movies during/before/after that period? Unfortunately, nepotism is all you can think and talk about everywhere because it's easy & simple. It will give your comments several thumbs up, but the real problem for talented actresses stays!

hmm.. you have no idea about sridevi, no one could get the stardom she got, she was voted as best actress in 100yr of cinema in cnn poll and she was very much alive and you are saying she is didn’t receive any award, but she got padma shree and for what she will receive movie awards?? she was not doing any movies, her movie released a yr ago, so obviously she will get awards in 2017 category and did you forget about salman giving a tribute for 50 yrs in cinema during mom teaser release. She left industry before 20 yrs but still no actress is able to rule major film industries like her and all the today’s actresses are like flavours of the season, if they are remembered by people even after 20 yrs being away, then that’s what stardom is. Pls don’t bring any today’s generation actress in comparison to these superstars, they holded their place in people’s heart forever, it can’t be done by being on magazines or giving gym appearances.

So true

18 ft is too small for sridevi's legacy.
but what a sweet move.
