EXCLUSIVE: Kartik Aaryan’s Dhamaka sold to Netflix for whopping Rs 85 crore?

Kartik Aaryan started shooting for the film in December 2020. This Ronnie Screwvala & Ram Madhvani collaboration is expected to release in June.

EXCLUSIVE: Kartik Aaryan’s Dhamaka sold to Netflix for whopping Rs 85 crore?

Kartik Aaryan started shooting for the Ram Madhvani directed Dhamaka in December and reportedly wrapped up shooting for the film in a record 10 days. The actor had shared a post on social media before leaving his house for the shoot. "Shuru karein #Dhamaka Lekar Prabhu ka naam Checking in Swipe right to see my already worried Mom,” he had captioned the picture. The makers including Madhvani and Ronnie Screwvala had booked an entire hotel in Powai where major portions of the movie were shot. This upcoming thriller is currently in the post-production stage and Pinkvilla now has an exclusive update on it.

A source close to the development informs that Aaryan’s Dhamaka has been sold to Netflix for a whopping 85 crore. “Dhamaka is one of the most awaited films of Kartik Aaryan in 2021 and the makers are looking forward to unveiling it as soon as possible. As of now the tentative release date for Dhamaka is said to be June. Final paperwork between the production house and the OTT giant is expected to be done in a few days,” adds the source. 

Besides Kartik Aaryan, Dhamaka also features Mrunal Thakur in the lead role. The actor had released the poster of his film on his birthday, November 22. Take a look at it here:

Later, he had shared his look from the film as well, introducing his character as Arjun Pathak. Reportedly, Kartik Aaryan plays a journalist in the film. Apart from Dhamaka, Kartik will also be seen in Collin D'Cunha’s Dostana 2 with Janhvi Kapoor and in Anees Bazmee’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which also features Kiara Advani. 


When reached out to Netflix, they remained unavailable for comment.
