The pretty lady Mithila Palkar who captivated the minds of viewers with her innocence and sheer talent in her cup beat song that went viral on social media went on to bag the lead role in one of 2016's most popular web series, 'Girl in the City!
The sheer innocence perfectly blended with excitement and enthusiasm of wanting to make it big in the city of dreams within a short time span allotted by her parents, was portrayed finely by Mithila in the form of Meera. The chirpy artist is now all set to be a part of the second season of the hit web series as well.
In a candid conversation with us, Mithila aka Meera Sehgal elaborated on her role in the Girl in the City Chapter 2 series.
How different is Girl In The City Chapter 2 going to be from its first season?
Girl in the City has been such a special project for everyone involved. The first season focused on the journey of a young energetic girl who comes to the city of her dreams to pursue her passion for fashion. As she settles in the city – trying to make it her own - she makes new friends, learns a few life lessons and lot more about fashion and reaches a point in her life where she has to make a life changing decision. And now we are coming back with the second chapter which will take this journey forward. Girl in the City Chapter 2 will still continue to revolve around Meera Sehgal and her life, her friends and her passion. The stark difference in Chapter 2 will be that all the characters have now grown up in the series – in terms of maturity if not so much age. Their outlook towards life, therefore, has drastically changed. For instance: If Meera was impulsive then she will be seen taking informed decisions. You will also get to see new characters who will play an integral role in her life and help her become the person that she is. 
Now that people have loved and appreciated the first season, Do you think the second one is going to be more challenging for you?
Challenge is honestly not the word I would use. I believe that if people love you, they will love you regardless. If they don't, they won't. Having said that, the response to the first chapter was absolutely overwhelming and this has only encouraged us to do much better. We want the same fans coming back but also want more to come and watch us. It definitely is a lot of responsibility to keep up with the expectations that fans and viewers have come to expect off us but with an engaging story arc and interesting characters along with the adventures of Meera, we are hopeful at the same time confident that everyone will continue to appreciate and love the series and of course, Meera.
How different and confident will Meera be in season 2?
In the first season, Meera had set out to discover a whole new world to pursue her passion. She was unaware and unsure of the ways of the big city life, came to an unknown city completely unprepared, fell down a lot many times as she made her way through the hurdles. In this chapter, however, Meera will definitely be a lot more confident. Like I said, she has now grown up so how she reacts to new people in her life, how she manages to deal with the challenges in her life, the decisions she takes now will be extremely different from the Meera in season one. But what doesn’t change is her passion and her determination to pursue her dreams. She still loves everything there is to do with fashion in Chapter 2 as well.
Any plans of foraying into Bollywood?
Those are wishful wants. Hopefully will make my way there soon.
Kindly elaborate on your upcoming projects?
There are a few in the pipeline. However, nothing's set in stone yet so cannot share too many details about it.

The way you have fans in abundance? Any specific online work that you are a fan of?
I quite enjoy a few web series that have released in the recent past. John Oliver is fun too.
Mithila also took the internet by storm recently for the news of her dating Marathi star Ameya Wagh. When we asked her about the truth to the story, the actress chose not to comment stating that she was uncomfortable in answering questions related to her personal life.
Mithila's' cupbeat song that went viral last year, got her into the limelight. It was then when the actress' fine acting skills and sheer talent got all the limelight that it deserved. The cup beat rendition song struck a chord with millions of people and was loved by not just the common man but also ace artists like Paresh Rawal, Imtiaz Ali and many more.
Through an engaging narrative, the first season of Bindass' web series, Girl In The City portrayed a journey of self-discovery, as a young girl with dreams to fulfil steps into the bustling city of Mumbai. The new series launches on March 24, 2017.
