EXCLUSIVE: Drashti Dhami gets candid about her birthday plans; says she is enjoying spending time with husband
Television's Madhubala, Drashti Dhami, turns 33 today. In an exclusive interview with Pinkvilla, the gorgeous actress got candid about her birthday plans, spending quality time with her husband Neeraj Khemka and her yet-to-be-made bucket list.
Television's Madhubala, Drashti Dhami, has had an exceptional career graph ever since she played the role of ever so bubbly Dr. Muskaan in Dill Mill Gayye. The actor then went on to essay the role of a trailblazer Geet in Geet Hui Sabse Parayi wherein her chemistry with co-star Gurmeet Chaudhary was considered one of the hottest. She later played a titular role in Madhubala-Ek Ishq Ek Junoon and again her chemistry with Vivian Dsena became the talk of the town.
Drashti's last show was Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil opposite Arjun Bijlani. She has also appeared in several reality shows. The talented actress is currently on a sabbatical and enjoying some time with husband Neeraj Khemka. Drashti got married to Neeraj in 2015.
The gorgeous actress celebrates her 33rd birthday today. In an exclusive interview with PINKVILLA, Drashti revealed her birthday plans, spoke about finding a new hobby and much more.

Birthday plans?
Honestly, I am doing nothing as it is a working day. I am at home, it is a regular day, I am going to go for my workout and definitely go to meet my grandparents at some point of the day. So that's about it. I will probably meet a few friends for lunch maybe with Sanaya [Irani]. I am not going out for dinner with Neeraj because we can't eat out anymore. (sighs) 
When asked why? she said, "because we went all out with it in the last few days and we are trying to be on a diet."
Are you a birthday person?
I am sure no one on planet Earth doesn't enjoy their birthday. More than anything, it is just the love and attention you get that day, it is amazing. I guess with time, I am like okay. I usually always work on my birthday if I have a show. Of course, this year I don't know after how many years I am not working. So, yes, totally looking forward to a nice peaceful birthday.
Also, I have had my share of fun on Saturday (pre-birthday celebrations) where I had my close friends around. Neeraj threw that party and it was so much fun to hang out with them.
Birthday gifts?
I have received a lot of gifts including perfumes, clothes, cosmetics, hip flask from Nakuul [Mehta] and Jankee [Parekh Mehta], wine bottles. It was a good birthday and I loved all part of it.
Do you expect any more surprises from Neeraj?
I am guessing he is not trying to do anything else. Bichara has done a lot already. If he does something else I will be like 'no baby don't do anything more'. I guess I am very content with what he has done. I am not much of a big party person, I like to celebrate birthdays and other events too, with a smaller section of people. Hence, I think it was perfect.
It's a new year. Do you have your bucket list ready already?
I haven't made a bucket list yet but yes, the only thing I want to do is to learn something new or pick up a new hobby till I sign a new show. I really don't know what that would be, next time we talk I will definitely know what I want to do. By the end of January, I will find some new activity to learn and probably have my travel plans ready.
When do we see you back onscreen? Is any show in the pipeline?
Honestly, not really. Nothing as of now. Of course, how much ever I want to come back to work, I do want to pick up something nice and sensible so I am in no hurry. At the same time, I wouldn't mind if something nice comes my way. I have really not thought what I would like to do, I am just waiting for something nice to happen.
Also, at some level, I am liking this break that I have had for some while now because for the first time in many years I think I have been able to enjoy weddings, I have been travelling, I have been spending time with my friends and nephews, mum-in-law and my family. Neeraj actually told me that for the first time I think you are married to me as finally, I am spending some quality time with him. (laughs) So we go out for workouts together, we are this 'Netflix couple' now, so once he is back from work, the only thing we are doing is watching Netflix. I am liking and enjoying this. (laughs)
