Box Office Report: Sushant's M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story records 2nd biggest opening of 2016
Sushant Singh Rajput's M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story has bowled the audience and has recorded the second biggest opening of 2016, after Salman Khan's Sultan. The movie beat the business of Shah Rukh Khan's Fan that made INR 19.20 crores on its opening day, by earning INR 21.30 crores on first day.
The collections are excellent given that it didn't have an A-lister and the movie was a non-holiday release. The Neeraj Pandey directed affair is likely to come among the top 15 highest opening days ever, and will occupy fifth or sixth position as far as non-holiday release factor is concerned.
Brand Dhoni has worked big time for the movie as it is faring well both in the single screens and the multiplex. However, the movie has under performed slightly in the North compared to Mumbai and South. But given the blockbuster start and positive word of mouth, it would be interesting to see how much the movie records in its first weekend.
