Frozen 2 US Box Office: Kristen Bell's film registers highest opening weekend for an animated film in November
Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell starrer Frozen 2 released last Friday and registered a bumper opening weekend at the global box-office. The animated flick has collected $350 million worldwide so far and doesn't seem to be stopping anytime soon.
November 2019 was highly-awaited for many as we finally got to see the sequel to Frozen (2013), which originally made us fall in love with Elsa and Anna. Frozen 2 marked the return of the original voice cast - Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Jonathan Groff and Josh Gad - and gave us an insight into the unknown by delving into how Elsa got her magical powers in the first place. Many wondered how the Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee directorial would fair this time around and given the recently announced opening weekend numbers, it was nothing but fireworks!
At the US box-office, Frozen 2 collected a staggering $127 million, according to Box Office Mojo. The flick registered the biggest animated opening for the month of November and the fourth largest opening ever for an animated film. In comparison, Frozen's three-day opening weekend was less than double at $67.4 million. Frozen 2 also beat the opening weekend of the iconic November release, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 (2010), which was $125 million, It's also interesting to note that Frozen 2 had 59% female audience with their families and together dominated 70% of the opening weekend crowd.

In terms of global box-office, Frozen 2 earned a mammoth $350 million, which is impressive, to say the least. It won't be wrong to predict that Frozen 2 will eventually trump its predecessor's lifetime box-office collection, which stands strongly at $1.276 billion.

Talking about the opening weekend at the Indian box-office, Frozen 2 collected an impressive Rs 18.25 crore (Friday - Rs 3.25 crore, Saturday - Rs 6.75 crore, Sunday - Rs 8.25 crore).
