SOTY 2 Box Office Collection Day 3: Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday & Tara Sutaria's film to touch 50 crore
Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria starrer Student of the Year 2 released three days ago and made good progress over the weekend. The film is expected to earn Rs 50 crore till day 4 at the box office.
Student of the Year 2 released last week on May 10 and received mixed reviews from the audience. The trio of Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria made full efforts in promoting their huge release. Ananya and Tara are making their debut in the film industry with this film. SOTY 2 is a sequel of the 2012 film Student of the Year featuring Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Siddharth Malhotra. The second part has a special song 'The Hookup Song' starring Alia and Tiger. Moreover, Hollywood fame Will Smith also made a special appearance in the movie in a song.
The film opened up with a collection of Rs 12.06 crores and the movie really progressed on Saturday. Student of the Year 2 is now Tiger Shroff's second highest opener so far. His 2018 film action drama Baaghi 2 bagged Rs 25.1 crores. SOTY 2 collected Rs 14.02 crores on its second day. Well, the film is off to a good start and might soon reach Rs 50 crores. Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#StudentOfTheYear2 saw limited growth on Day 2, while the sixth phase of polling [cinemas were shut till evening] + #IPL2019Final [evening onwards] affected its biz on Day 3… Fri 12.06 cr, Sat 14.02 cr, Sun 12.75 cr. Total: ₹ 38.83 cr. India biz. #SOTY2.” Recently, the director of the movie, Punit Malhotra threw an after party to celebrate the film's successful opening. The actors Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria were also present at the party. Karan Johar, the producer of the movie was however missing from the party.
