Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma star as small-town couple Mauji and Mamta in their latest outing, Sui Dhaaga - Made in India. Mauji is a tailor while Mamta is an embroiderer and the film takes us on the couple's journey of self-employment and entrepreneurship. Directed by Sharat Katariya, Sui Dhaaga is produced by Maneesh Sharma, under the YRF banner. Sui Dhaaga, which is based on PM Narendra Modi's initiative Make in India, is Varun and Anushka's first on-screen collaboration.

While the opening day collections of Sui Dhaaga stood at Rs 8.25 crore approx (owing to the Asia Cup Finals), Varun and Anushka's film witnessed a great 30% jump on Day 2 i.e. Saturday. According to production figures, Sui Dhaaga has collected Rs 12.25 crore approx. The total collections now stand at Rs 20.50 crore (Friday - Rs 8.25 crore, Saturday - Rs 12.25 crore), which is really good for the film and the actors. It's the mostly positive reviews for Varun and Anushka's performance that is getting the audience to flock the theatres.
