Ujda Chaman Box Office Collection Day 1: Sunny Singh’s movie FAILS to create a buzz; Gets a slow start
Sunny Singh starrer Ujda Chaman, which has been the talk of the town for its clash with Ayushmann Khurrana’s Bala, has opened to a disappointing star at the box office.
The month has begun and is eyeing for some new releases at the box office. This week we had Sunny Singh’s much-talked-about movie Ujda Chaman hitting the big screen. The movie had created the right amount of buzz before its release courtesy its intriguing trailer and its controversy with Ayushmann Khurrana’s Bala. To note, Ujda Chaman and Bala were said to be witnessing a box office clash. And with both the movies dealing with the same subject of premature balding, the clash started a row.
However, post a heated debate, the makers of Ujda Chaman preponed the release of the movie by a week and it released on November 1, 2019. The movie opened to mixed reviews from the audience and critics. But much to everyone’s surprise, it failed to ring the cash registers and witnessed a slow start at the box office. According to Box Office India, Ujda Chaman raked in Rs 1.75 crores nett on its day of release.
If the media reports are to be believed, Ujda Chaman, which was made with a production budget of Rs 7 crores, is likely to witness a jump in its opening weekend. However, it will be facing a tough competition from Bala which is to hit the theatres next week. Helmed by Amar Kaushik, the movie also stars Bhumi Pednekar and Yami Gautam along with Ayushmann in the lead. Bala is surely expected to create fireworks at the box office. It will be interesting to see how the Ayushmann starrer will fare at the box office.
