EXCLUSIVE: Janvhi Kapoor or Sara Ali Khan: Who will bag Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 opposite Kartik Aaryan?
It's a toss up between Sara Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor for the female lead's part in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. As of now, Kartik Aaryan has been locked for the Anees Bazmee directorial.
Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan wowed the audiences with their performances in Bhool Bhulaiyaa. That was in 2007. Now, 12 years later, the makers plan to make the film into a franchise with a second part rolling out early next year. Kartik Aaryan will essay the part of the lead protagonist whereas Akshay Kumar will also be mostly seen playing a small part too.
The hunt for the leading actress is on. Our source tells us, "The makers T-Series along with Murad Khetani and Ashwin Varde want a younger cast for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and right now, the script is being finalised. They have a few options in mind. It will mostly be a pick between Janhvi Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan. Both of them have positioned themselves really well and now, it depends on who can schedule their dates for the film."
Like the original, the female protagonist has an extremely important role in the sequel too. "It's a fresh story which will have no connection to part one. The lead actress' part is a really challenging one and the makers want someone who can not only act but also look really good opposite Kartik. Once the script is finalised, they will start approaching actresses." Meanwhile, Kartik will have shared screen space with both the leading ladies. He has Aaj Kal lined up early next year where he will be seen romancing Sara whereas he and Janhvi play siblings in Dostana 2 which rolls in October. So whoever among the two gets signed on opposite Kartik, it will be their second film opposite him.
