Sonam Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga is one of the most anticipated movies of 2019 for many reasons. With this film, for the first time ever, Sonam will be seen sharing screen space with her dad Anil Kapoor. The teaser for the film was unveiled earlier this year and had only left us wanting for more. While the story of the movie and the character details are kept under wraps, PINKVILLA has learned an important detail with regards to the film. A source informed us that the movie is based on the concept of Love Jihad. The film also has a lot of other twists and turns and is based on a very progressive scale and we honestly cannot wait to see what the makers have in store.
A special trailer preview for the movie will reportedly be held in the next 2-3 days. Earlier, speaking about sharing screen space with her dad, Sonam had said that this is the best film for the duo to come together. "When you watch Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, you will realise that it was the best film for dad and me to come together for the first time," Sonam Kapoor had said. The movie has been directed by Shelly Chopra Dhar and went on floors in February this year. Sonam had shared a photo on Instagram from the sets of the film and captioned it, “Even work feels like home with dad and this amazing team! Here's a glimpse from the sets of Shelly Chopra Dhar's directorial debut - Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga." The film also stars Juhi Chawla in a pivotal role. 
Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, the title of the movie is based on the hit song of the 90s film 1942: A Love Story, which incidentally starred Anil Kapoor himself with actress Manisha Koirala. The movie is being produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. On the work front, Sonam is currently busy shooting for The Zoya Factor where she is paired alongside Dulquer Salmaan. The shooting for the movie is going on in full swing and Abhishek Sharma is directing the movie.
