One of the highly anticipated movies Badhaai Ho is finally in theatres. The Day 2 collections of the movie are really impressive as the movie has managed to showcase a record of 60 percent jump. The movie has collected Rs.11.67 Cr on Friday, so the two-day total stands at Rs.18.96 Cr. considering, it wasn't released in Madhya Pradesh due to the ongoing theatre strike, the numbers are really remarkable. Also, the movie has taken the spot of the 8th best opening of the year. The movie is getting competition from Parineeti Chopra and Arjun Kapoor starrer Namaste England. Both the movies were scheduled to hit the theatres on October 19, but the makers of the movies decided to release a day prior, i.e. on the day of Dussehra.
Earlier trade analysts had suggested that the film would collect 5 to 6 crores on Day 1, but the movie did well and collected 7.25-7.50 crore on the first day, as per BOI report. Film critic and trade analyst Girish Johar also said that Badhaai Ho has a more effective trailer and the same can lead to a higher chance of leading the box office race over Namaste England.
For the unversed, the movie stars Ayushmann Khurrana, Sanya Malhotra, Gajraj Rao, Neena Gupta, Sheeba Chaddha and Surekha Sikri in key roles. The trailer of the movie was highly praised eversince it was released. Ayushmann Khurrana who is riding high on the success of Andhadhun gets another blockbuster in his list.
