After much ado, the makers have finally locked the heroine of Arjun Reddy Shalini Pandey opposite Ranveer Singh in their next, read details.
Earlier this year, Ranveer Singh had announced his next project under YRF, the banner that launched him in Bollywood. The Gen-Y star called it a miracle script and the filming begins sometime next month. Ranveer plans to finish Jayeshbhai Jordaar before moving on to Karan Johar's Takht.
Speculations were rife that either Ananya Panday or Sara Ali Khan were in contention to play the leading lady, we hear that YRF will introduce someone else into filmdom, with the movie. In fact, the heroine of this film is already a prominent face down South and will be making her Hindi film debut now.
A source says, "The idea was always to launch a fresh face opposite Ranveer in the movie. The makers have roped in Arjun Reddy heroine Shalini Pandey as the main lead for Jayeshbhai Jordaar. The YRF team will introduce its new bunch of talents who they will be managing in Bollywood. Shalini is the most promising face of the lot. She has already proved her mettle as an actress in Arjun Reddy and now, she will play a Gujarati girl who's opposite Ranveer's Jayeshbhai - a Gujarati businessman in Jayeshbhai Jordaar. When Adi saw her screen tests, he was mighty pleased and immediately decided to launch her in Hindi films." So with this film, yet another South import will finally get a chance to enthrall the pan India audience. This also goes on to show that the makers are slowly bridging the gap that once existed between the two film fraternities.
