Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez are going to set hearts on fire if the trailer of A Gentleman is anything to go by. They have their onscreen chemistry on point and recently, when we had a fun tête-à-tête with the leading pair, their offscreen camaraderie was off the charts as well.

Munching on dried fruits and dates, we started the casual conversation by talking about how they have progressed from being movie in-laws to love interests as they had earlier starred in Brothers with Akshay Kumar. When asked about the progression, Sidharth quipped, "Look at this girl! (laughs)" to which Jacqueline exclaimed, "What about you!? What about Akshay!? I'm your bhabhi!" Being a true friend, Sidharth stated, "Akshay has gone to the TOILET."

When asked about their tantalizing chemistry, Sidharth revealed, "We have chemistry as we have bonded and become friends. We spent so much time shooting and we have a lot in common. We are both from the outside. She is always in a good mood which always helps someone like me to be positive and be happy on the sets."

"Sidharth is always in a good mood as well. I don't know what he is talking about," Jacqueline said. Sidharth agreed.

Jacqueline believes that there are aspects of Sid's characters sundar and susheel Gaurav as well as risky Rishi in Sidharth while Sidharth believes that Jacky is completely like her character Kavya.

Jacqueline's pole dancing skills in the song Chardalekha from A Gentleman is to die for. When asked if Sidharth took any lessons from his co-star, he said, "I offered to be an audience. I don't mind going. Jacqueline even said that her friends are going for group classes but she never told me."

He continued, "I can't do it myself. Men have restrictions physically. You know, body hair wise because you have to grab onto the skin. Also, men can't fully wrap their legs around the pole. If I want to have kids, then I can't. (laughs) I don't mind being the pole though!"

Reports of their offscreen relationship have been the talk of the town and one could easily notice the comfort level between the co-stars. Quiz them on whether it was ever awkward between the "friends" and comes the reply from Jacqueline, "At the end of the day, you know the truth. It just becomes a joke when things like that happen. You can talks things out and you can clarify things. I don't think it is an issue and we are mature adults. At times!"

While they gear up for A Gentleman, both Sidharth and Jacqueline's last movies Baar Baar Dekho and A Flying Jatt had an underwhelming response at the box-office. Did the box-office failure demotivate or made them nervous about their next movie? To this, Sidharth replied, "You feel more driven and aggressive because it's my journey in the past. And even for her (Jacqueline), because we are not from the industry. We came from zero and strangers to the business and the city. We've achieved a lot. There will be some bumps. You can't always have a smooth ride. It is pretty much impossible and when you do have that bump, you get more driven. Because if any of us had the personality to give up, we wouldn't be here today. I think it is the attitude in which you take your bumps. I'm pretty excited for this release purely because of what I am coming from the past and I feel that the only competition that I have is my last film."

Mirroring Sidharth's stance, Jacqueline continued, "I think you can give a 100 percent only to the work you do. You can't make that decision of your movie being a hit or a flop. That's something that is left to the public and destiny. I actually don't find a need to be nervous about anything because you can only do the best that you can with the work that you have and let fate take its path. Everything will be fine in the end."

Speaking about not being from the industry, NEPOTISM has taken 2017 by storm. But did it ever play as a barrier to Sidharth and Jacqueline? Sidharth revealed, "I won't say barrier. Firstly, there is so much chatter now that majority of youth India knows what nepotism means. This is the new word we have got - Nepotism, sabko pata hai. That being said, it is there in the industry. We can't deny it because there are so many actors, directors and more actors who have family available in the industry who work with them and are working for them but I would not say that I was...I didn't work in those movies barring say the first film. I wouldn't say it was a hindrance. The only difference I would honestly say was maybe awareness that they (Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt) come with because of their background and upbringing they've been so exposed to the Bollywood ways of making. Yeah, I didn't have that awareness. Honestly, I feel that I was extremely lost. At that time there is nobody to guide you. You learn from your own mistakes and you make your own decisions as opposed to learning from your family. So that is the only difference I would say. "

Jacqueline continued, "Yes, that's true. Having worked with both sides - Varun (Dhawan) and Sid as well, having worked with both, you see the challenges that they go through as well."

Sidharth then interrupted Jacqueline and quipped, "Like what!? (laughs)"

The actress continued, "What are you saying!? (laughs) C'mon they also come with a lot of baggage. I won't say it is easy for them also to live with the fact that they do come from a filmy background. It definitely works to your advantage, you can take it to work to your advantage. But at the same time, the public keeps throwing it back at you. So, you always have to keep proving yourself because they expect that from you and it becomes questionable about the work that you get based on your merit and your talent as opposed to you just being from the industry. That's not something that is easy to live with and I see that struggle happening. Everyone has their own struggles. We have our struggles and they have theirs. At the end of the day what really works is what the audience is expecting and they like you irrespective of your background."

Finally, when asked as to why fans should flock the movie theatres for A Gentleman, Sidharth said, "It's got action. It's got romance. Comedy. What else do you want? There is no stress in the film. It's got pole dancing. It's Jacky doing action with guns. It's a stress-free entertaining film. It has got good music as well. It's got us. You should come on 25th of August and enjoy the film."

Jacqueline said, "It's got two Sid's for the price of one. It's got pole dancing. There is no stress in the movie. I would say it has got very real action because Sid does all his stunts on his own. It's got very real humor because it is Raj and DK. It's fun, cool and real humour. It's got good chemistry."

Directed by Krishna DK and Raj Nidimoru, A Gentleman is slated to release on August 25, 2017.
