India's costliest film, 2.0 starring Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar in the lead roles has finally hit the screens. After much delay and years of hard work, the film which has been directed by Shankar has released today at the box office. The sci-fi film also starring Amy Jackson is receiving fantastic response all over the country. The advance booking response was massive and looks like it will set the box office on fire. 2.0 has been released in about 10,500 screens across the world and is going to witness earth-shattering success.

The Hindi version of 2.0 has taken a good start at the box office. The film has witnessed morning occupancy of around 35-40%. It is receiving a positive response in single screens, and the big end multiplexes has got an average response. Considering it is the dubbed version of 2.0, it is a very good start for the Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer. With such solid start, it remains to see if 2.0 can set any records by the end of the day. The bigger multiplexes are expected to pull some crowd in the evening and night shows.

In an interaction with Pinkvilla, trade expert Girish Johar about Shankar’s directorial 2.0, Girish Johar said, “2.0 is highly anticipated release of the year, which is one of the most expensive films to the budget of Rs 600 crores and a lot of money has gone for releasing and making of this film. Expectations are humongous and it is going to be the widest release ever globally. Down South, it is going to be huge in terms of Box Office numbers. Advance booking is tremendous and in the Hindi language it is quite average at the moment but we all know it is Rajinikanth film with Akshay Kumar as the villain. Yes, tomorrow when the film releases and then over the weekend it will definitely catch up. It terms of opening, tomorrow being Thursday, a non-holiday release, I guess it will be highest non-holiday release of the year for Akshay Kumar film. Definitely, a highest non-holiday start for Akshay Kumar film is on cards.”
