2.0 Hindi Box Office Collection Day 1: Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer earns Rs 20 crore

Despite not performing well at the big multiplexes, 2.0 starring Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar has made a good start on day one at the box office.

Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar’s 2.0 has made a good start at the box office on a non-holiday release. Despite not performing well at the big multiplexes, 2.0, which has been directed by Shankar, has taken off to a good start on day one. The big budget film has earned around Rs 20 crores nett in the Hindi version. The Akshay Kumar factor has worked for the film in North India. In Delhi / UP, 2.0 has done a total business of Rs 4.75-5 crore nett, 1.90 crore nett in East Punjab and Rs 1.25 crore net approx in Bihar.

The collections are a little below the mark in some places, and but the figures are not so far than Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan starrer Thugs Of Hindostan. The Hindi version of the sci-fi film is performing well down South and has a good scope to put up some amazing numbers over the weekend. Despite a non-holiday Thursday release, 2.0 has managed to put up a good base. Now, it remains to see how the film performs on Friday and over the weekend. Meanwhile, 2.0 is doing good in the overseas market as well.


As per the initial numbers, 2.0 has earned around Rs 59 lakhs ($83,720) from 35 screens in Australia, $282,967 from 258 screens in the US till 9 PM EST and Rs 11.11 lakhs ($15,920) in New Zealand from 18 screens.

2.0 has been released in about 10,500 screens across the world and is going to witness earth-shattering success. In the film, Rajinikanth plays a scientist and a robot. 2.0 is the sequel to the 2010 blockbuster Enthiran (Robot) which also featured Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. 2.0 marks Akshay Kumar’s Tamil debut and it also stars Amy Jackson.
