Box Office Report: Airlift Witnesses a Massive Jump on R-Day!
Director Raja Krishna Menon's Airlift stunned all with its opening weekend collections. The movie had not only opened to rave reviews but also kept the cash registers ringing. With the movie earning INR 10.40 crores on first Monday, all eyes were on the Tuesday business, given that it was a National Holiday.
And as expected, the Akshay Kumar-Nimrat Kaur starrer film has performed extremely well on its first Tuesday, surpassing the Day 1 collections too. On Republic Day, Airlift earned INR 17.80 crores taking the 5 days total to INR 72.50 crores.
With Airlift already crossing the INR 70 crores mark in just 5 days, this film will definitely surpass Akshay Kumar's highest week 1 business, which is held by Rowdy Rathore that had collected INR 79.52 crores
The positive word of mouth might help to earn more at the ticket window. However, with the release of Saala Khadoos this week, it would be interesting to see how much the film fares.
