Sushant Singh Rajput and Shraddha Kapoor starrer hit the cinemas on 6th September, this Friday. The star ensemble brought together a bunch of young and talented actors including Varun Sharma, Naveen Polishetty, Prateik Babbar and Tahir Raj Bhasin who effortlessly created a fun-filled atmosphere of hostel life and college friendship in the film. The promos of the film introduced each character in their own unique way and instantly gave rise to a lot of buzz.

However, the much-anticipated comedy-drama witnessed a slow start on the first day. As per Box Office India, Sushant and Shraddha’s film raked in Rs 7 Crore on Day 1 as the box office collection. The afternoon shows went dull but the evening kicked in more numbers. The film did fairly well in Delhi NCR and Punjab but did not manage to work wonders in Mumbai.

Chhichhore saw comparatively higher growth in numbers on Day 2. The film bagged 18.50 crore net plus in two days, showing a 65% hike on the second day itself, almost doubling the collection. With the weekend coming in, Sushant and Shraddha starrer is expected to shoot up.

Helmed by Dangal director Nitesh Tiwari, Chhichhore is a light-hearted film featuring a group of friends who reunite after years of college. While everything else has changed, the college humour and friendship remains intact. The film is appreciated by several celebrities including Sushant Singh Rajput's rumoured girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty. Chhichhore became the talk of the town for its rib-tickling trailer and promo videos. Despite seeing an average response in the beginning, the film is expected to attract the youth and lock greater numbers in the coming week.
