Gully Boy First Weekend Box Office Collection: Ranveer Singh & Alia Bhatt’s film is off to an impressive start
Starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles, Gully Boy has been able to take advantage of it’s 4-day extended weekend and is off to a good start. Here’s how much Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy made at the box office during its first weekend.
If there is one movie that everyone has been talking about since its trailer came out, it is Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy. Starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles, Gully Boy shares with the world the story of Murad aka Ranveer Singh who lives in the slums of Dharavi but dreams of becoming big by following his passion of rapping. He meets a rapper, MC Sher who brings out his talent and helps him win over the public with his music. Alia who plays the role of Safeena is Murad’s possessive girlfriend who wants him to follow his heart.
The movie released on February 14, 2019, and was off to good start. Gully Boy not only received applause from the audiences but also got critical acclaim from the film analysts. Now, coming to the extended weekend's box office collection, Gully Boy managed to sweep the audiences across all the metro towns and also got the advantage of a 4-day weekend. Gully Boy managed to make about 71 crores as the first weekend collection including Sunday’s estimates as well. 
Thus, Ranveer and Alia’s performances have been able to leave a lasting impression in the minds of the audiences, and as per the box office collection, it is off to an impressive start. It is going to pick up in the upcoming weekdays as well and that will reflect in the collection as well.

Talking about Gully Boy, it premiered at the Berlin Film Festival 2019 where Ranveer, Alia and Zoya were received by a massive crowd. The songs from the film, Doori, Azaadi, Apna Time Ayega and Mere Gully Mein have been trending across all music platforms. Zoya Akhtar’s film-making is also receiving a lot of applause. Now, it will be interesting to see how Gully Boy does in the upcoming days.
