Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif starrer Zero had a slow start at the box office and the film is witnessing steady run since day one of its release. The makers of the film had left no stone unturned for the promotions and this only managed to increase the recall value of Zero, but somewhere, the film has not managed to live up to audience expectations. The film is receiving mixed reviews from the audience and this has affected the box office business. On its first day, i.e. Friday, Zero made a collection of Rs 20.14 crores. It had witnessed a drop of around 12% and earned approx Rs 17 crores on its second day.

The film witnessed a dull first weekend and the collection on Christmas holiday is no surprising. On Monday, the film collected Rs 9.50 crore approx, and on Tuesday, it has managed to collect Rs 11.75 crore approx. Zero has shown a growth of 25% and this is not huge considering it was a Christmas holiday. The total business of the romantic drama stands at Rs 75.85 crore net approx in five days. With such a slow run, it remains to see how Zero performs in the coming days. Wednesday is going to be another shocking day.

Directed by Aanand L Rai, Zero also features special appearances by late Sridevi, Salman Khan, Alia Bhatt, Karisma Kapoor, Juhi Chawla, Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Kajol, Abhay Deol and R Madhavan. The romantic drama received mixed reviews from the audience and looks like this has resulted in the box office collection. Have you watched the film? Director Aanand L Rai in an interview to Scroll.in had shared that he wanted a larger-than-life superstar for the film. He said, "There was a need to cast this way, otherwise what am I changing? I can only take away from you when you have it. I needed somebody humongous to do this to. I am taking away two feet from Khan saab and shortening those arms and saying the part is about soul and heart. Who could I snatch these things away from? It had to be someone like him and then when we did it, we challenged him to show us what he could do."
