EXCLUSIVE: Akshay Kumar is NOT doing any biopic on Prime Minister Narendra Modi
Akshay Kumar is not doing any movie based on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Biopics have become the new 'go-to' subject for filmmakers. With several biopics in the making, rumours of a biopic on Prime Minister Narendra Modi started doing the rounds.
Various reports suggested that the role of PM Modi will be essayed by none other than Akshay Kumar.
A source close to the ruling Government NDA stated to the daily, "The kind of reach and impact that Akshay Kumar’s presence will have in a story on Modi would be far-reaching and productive."
The rumours became strong after Central Board of Film Certification’s chairperson Pahlaj Nihalani in an interview had said, "I can’t think of anyone better to play our Prime Minster than Akshay. He has a spotless image of an idealist and visionary. And look at the kind of work he’s doing. Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and Padman are the cinema of social reform that Guru Dutt and V Shantaram were associated with. Also, Akshay has risen from humble working class beginnings to become a national star, just like Modiji. We are certainly looking at a strong possibility of Akshay playing Modiji."
However, a source revealed to us that the news is not true. "Akshay isn't doing any movie related to Modi. It's a rumour. There is no truth to it," revealed the source.
On the work front, Akshay is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Toilet EK Prem Katha which also stars Bhumi Pednekar. The movie is set to release on August 11, 2017. He is also shooting for Twinkle Khanna's Padman which also stars Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte. Megastar Amitabh Bachchan will also be seen doing a cameo in the movie.
