Akshay Kumar is on cloud nine. His latest film, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha has hit the century mark in precisely 8 days since its release. And while the celebrations for this movie are bound to continue, reports of another movie of Akshay Kumar - Padman, have been making the rounds.

According to a report carried by a portal, Akshay Kumar's Padman, whose release date was announced a few weeks back by the actor himself, has been preponed and is said to now release on the Republic Day weekend of 2018. The report suggests that Akshay's other film 2.0 with Rajinikanth, which was schedule to come out on January 2, is being pushed because there is lot of VFX to be completed. Hence, Akki decided to prepone the release of his social drama.

However, these reports seem to be untrue. When we got in touch with Prernaa Arora, who is the co-producer of Padman, she denied the news and said, "There is no truth to these stories. Robot 2.0 will release on January 2 whereas Padman will hit the screens as per schedule on April 13, 2018."

A source close to Akshay Kumar also denied the news and said that the reports are all baseless!

Well, this puts all the speculations to rest.

Padman, is being helmed by R. Balki and marks Akshay's wife Twinkle Khanna's foray into film production with Mrs Funnybones Productions. The movie also stars Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in the lead. PadMan is a biopic on Arunachalam Muruganantham, a small town entrepreneur from Tamil Nadu who invented low-cost sanitary napkins to generate awareness in rural areas.
