Did Iulia want to present an award as Salman Khan’s Race 3 co-star Daisy is giving one too at Masala Awards?
Iulia Vantur and Daisy Shah to attend Masala Awards in Dubai.
While Salman Khan is busy promoting Tiger Zinda Hai in India which releases next week, his close friends Iulia Vantur and Daisy Shah are currently in Dubai for the 10th Annual Masala! Awards. The awards which celebrate South Asian achievement has seen a host of Bollywood and Pakistani stars arriving in Dubai since the last couple of days. While Sridevi Boney Kapoor came with younger daughter Khushi and sans husband Boney, Mahira Khan came with her trusted manager Sehar. Her close friend Ranbir Kapoor is in Mumbai (he returned last night after completing his shoot for the Sanjay Dutt biopic in Dubai). Ankita Lokhande and Govinda are also in Dubai as they will perform for the event.
Says a source, “Iulia will present an award as will Daisy. While Iulia flew into Dubai a couple of days ago, Daisy flew down today. Last year when Iulia Vantur went on stage, with Shah Rukh Khan, to present the Best Director award to Karan Johar for Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, at Stardust Awards 2016, it shocked a few actresses in Bollywood as Iulia does not share celebrity status. Apparently, this time the tables appear to have been turned when Salman’s Race 3 co-star was asked to give an award at the Masala awards. Buzz is that a miffed Iulia said she wanted to present one too and that’s what happened – now both will present an award. The two don’t get along well and at Salman’s parties usually stay away from each other, so it will be interesting to see whether they hug and pose for pics together, on the red carpet tonight or just avoid each other and be seated far away!”
As far as the other celebs are concerned, both Sridevi and Arjun Rampal are receiving awards while Boman Irani is the Master of Ceremonies. The source adds, “Pakistan’s leading ladies including Saba Qamar, Mahira Khan and Mawra Hocane will also be there. They are all staying at the Lapita Hotel which is inside the Dubai Parks & Resorts as the award ceremony will be held there. Mawra is here for the T10 cricket but will attend tonight's function and Pakistani singers Bilal Saeed, Adel Farooq.”
The Masala awards will see the best of industry, lifestyle, and entertainment coming together for an event that promises to be full of glamour and excitement. The Popular Choice Awards categories also include the Best Restaurant, DJ, RJ, Blogger, TV channel, etc. Alongside, the platform shall also acknowledge and award the most influential, powerful, and inspiring names within the South Asian community across multiple sectors.
