We all remember the song of 2014 was OMI's epic hit, Cheerleader which has still not left our minds. Every now and then, our playlist makes us relive the catchy and addictive tunes of OMI's vocals and the chill vibe that the song exuded.

After Cheerleader, OMI went on to release his debut album Me 4 U which included hits like Hula Hoop, Stir It, Drop In The Ocean and These Are The Days.

From February 24-25th, White Fox India collaborated with OMI for a three-day tour of India (Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad) and his fans her got a glimpse of their favourite singer.

A few hours before his Mumbai concert, Pinkvilla caught up with the singer and spoke to him about his new album, Indian music and Bollywood.

When we quizzed him on if he was familiar with India music, the singer revealed, "I wish I knew the words. (laughs) When I hear Indian music, all you want to do is sing along with it."

On collaborating with Indian artists, "I would love to. Yes, definitely."

When it comes to Bollywood movies, OMI stated, "my mom watches a lot of them."

Cheerleader was officially hailed as Song Of The Summer by Billboard after a lengthy six-week reign at the #1 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart. About the origins of the song, OMI recalled to us, "I wanted to do an interlude what would eventually become an album. Initially, it was supposed to be a skit and we had only two verses and the hook. There was no instrumental behind it, it was all acapella and raw. We then added a third verse and made it into a song. A few years later, Felix Jaehn mixed it and it just went crazy. I've always had high hopes for my music because you have to believe in your talent. But, wow! (laughs) I am literally speechless when I look at the stats. I have plaques on my wall."

It was back in 2015 when OMI's debut album Me 4 U released. Talking about his second album, OMI concluded, "We are currently working on the new album to be released this year, definitely. Looking forward to putting out a couple of singles as well, hopefully for the summer. A lot of cool chill vibe you're going to like. And the rest of the OMI army is going to love it as well. I'm super excited about putting it out right now."
