Kangana Ranaut will be flying off for Cannes 2019 on the night of May 15. The actress has been continuously shooting for movies and is currently in the midst of practising Kabaddi for Panga. The movie is being helmed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari. She will also begin promoting her movie Mental Hai Kya where she reunites with Rajkummar Rao by June. The movie’s release date got postponed recently. Mental Hai Kya also stars Amyra Dastur in a pivotal role. The movie has been touted to be one of the most anticipated ones of this year.
Amidst this, Pinkvilla has learnt that Kangana, who will be at Cannes this year as well, was to launch the trailer for the movie at the coveted film festival along with producer Ekta Kapoor. She was scheduled to do the same on May 16; however, due to the film’s release being postponed, the launch was cancelled. We are quite bummed knowing this. Meanwhile, Kangana and Rajkummar starrer ran into a controversy recently after the psychiatrist society raised objection over the title of the movie. Deepika Padukone’s NGO too shared a strong viewpoint on the same. However, Balaji Telefilms in a statement said that the intention behind the title was never to offend anyone, if anything the movie is only trying to normalise eccentricity.
