Box Office Report: Udta Punjab Opens Well, Records 5th Highest Opening of 2016

Abhishek Chaubey's Udta Punjab has opened to positive reviews and the audience is appreciating the movie for its strong content and powerful acts. Now, in terms of box office collections, the film has had good first day as it collected INR 10.05 crores on opening day.
With this, the movie has recorded the fifth highest opening of 2016, after Fan, Housefull 3, Baaghi and Airlift. The film is performing well in Delhi city and East Punjab, and has recorded second highest opening day after Fan.
Given that the word of mouth is strong for the movie, the collections will grow on Saturday and Sunday. Udta Punjab, produced by Phantom Films and Balaji Motion Pictures, stars Alia Bhatt, Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh in the lead.
