Kaashi In Search Of Ganga Box Office Collection Day 1: Sharman Joshi’s search for audience looks bleak

Every Friday, new movies hit the theatres. Some do well and are loved by the audience, while others fail to impress the masses. Usually, a movie that is a mystery or a thriller tends to generate a lot of interest among the audience. However, this might not be the case with this Friday’s release starring Sharman Joshi in the lead. Kaashi: In search of Ganga is the story of Kaashi Chaudhary (Sharman) & his sister Ganga (Priyanka Singh) who goes missing under mysterious circumstances.
With such an intriguing plot too, the movie failed to draw in audience on Day 1. The movie’s storyline did not pique the interest of the audience, and thus, the collections remained poor and dull. The occupancy of the movie also remained low and this affected the collections as well. According to the Box Office of India, the total box office collection of Day 1 for Kaashi: In search of Ganga was INR 20 Lakhs.
The movie released with Saif Ali Khan, Radhika Apte, Chitrangada Singh and Rohan Mehra starrer Baazaar which also did not see much audience but did a lot better than Sharman Joshi’s film. The brother-sister bond played by Sharman and Priyanka did not tug at the hearts of the audience and thus collections remained low. Over the weekend, the expectations aren’t too high. Though Sharman Joshi as Kaashi in the movie is really good and his acting works, but the overall story didn’t leave a lasting impact.
