As we all know, Kabir Singh is a remake of Telugu blockbuster film Arjun Reddy, and clearly, it was not the safest option for the director to remake such a blockbuster film. But looks like, the risk was worth taking and all the hard work has paid off because Sandeep Vanga’s Kabir Singh has set the cash registers ringing at the box office. While the film crossed the 250 crores mark at the box office way back, as we speak, Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani’s Kabir Singh is going all gun blazing at the box office.

Kabir Singh has now surpassed the collection of Vicky Kaushal’s Uri - The Surgical Strike in Mumbai “to become the top film of the year in all the circuits barring the southern circuits of Nizam / Andhra, Mysore and Tamil Nadu / Kerala.” According to a report in Box Office India, in India, Kabir Singh has made approximately Rs 267-268 crore, with a collection of around Rs 1 crore on Friday. Kabir Singh's box office collection is far ahead of Uri's lifetime domestic collection of approximately Rs 245 crore. According to a report, Kabir Singh became the first film to cross the Rs 350 crores worldwide this year. Kabir Singh has maintained its steady collections at the box office with around 0.90-1 crore nett coming on its fifth Friday and with this, the business of the film reaches to 265 crore nett. And with Day 29, it can be said that the fifth week will also see the film among the highest collecting films of the fifth week.

But reports suggest that with Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao’s Judgementall Hai Kya releasing, Shahid Kapoor’s Kabir Singh might box out of the theatres this Friday. Without any doubt, Kabir Singh has gone on to become Shahid Kapoor’s biggest solo release. When the film crossed the 250 crores mark, an emotional Shahid Kapoor took to social media to pen a heartfelt message for his fans and thanked them for making one of the most flawed characters that he has ever played on screen the most loved.

Your love is so overwhelming words will always fall short. Thank you for understanding him forgiving him and loving him with all your heart. We all fall apart. And we all must strive to rise from our faults. To be better. To be wiser. To be kinder. He is flawed. So are we all. You didn’t judge him you experienced him. You understood him. I have never ever felt so thankful. The most flawed character I have ever played. Has become my most loved. Indeed indian cinema and the audience has come a long way. More power to brave choices. More power to you all for your maturity and humanness. You have given me wings to fly. To not only be burdened by the need to be loved to be a star but to have the courage to be hated in equal measure to be an actor. Here’s to cinema mirroring life. To protagonists who don’t have to be restricted by their goodness and can be human and imperfect. There is perfection in imperfection and that is the beauty and the challenge of this human life. Thank you. Again and again. You all are the heroes of this story.
