Last year, Nawazuddin Siddiqui played the role of Saadat Hasan Manto in Nandita Das' Manto. He was highly praised for his performance in the biopic based on the life of the legendary writer. This year, the actor played the role of the late Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray in the biopic based on his life. And yet again, the audiences and the critics are impressed with his performance.
The film released on Friday, January 25 last week. On its first day, Thackeray biopic made a collection of Rs 2.75 crores at the box office. On Saturday, this Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer earned Rs 4.50 crores approx, and on Sunday, the numbers were Rs 3.25 crores approx. Now, coming to its Monday box office collection, as reported by Box Office India, the Monday collection of Thackeray is Rs 1.35 crores. Thus, the box office collection showed a big drop in its numbers.

Thackeray also stars actress Amrita Rao in a pivotal role.
Along with Thackeray, Kangana Ranaut's Manikarnika also released on Friday last week. She plays the role of Rani Laxmibai in it. The film is a success at the box office and even the performances are being appreciated.
