EXCLUSIVE: 10 Years of Deepika Padukone: From not knowing acting to becoming the topmost heroine of the country, I am very proud of her- Farah Khan
Farah Khan says she is proud of Deepika Padukone as the latter completes a decade in the industry.
Deepika Padukone made a smashing debut with Farah Khan's Om Shanti Om opposite Shah Rukh Khan. Deepika entered the industry as an outsider and has managed to rule it in just a decade.
From Om Shanti Om to now Padmavati, Deepika has essayed a number of roles which also makes her one of the most versatile actresses we have today.
Farah, who directed Deepika in her first movie, is a proud mentor and couldn't contain her happiness seeing Padukone fly so high.
When asked about her thoughts on Deepika completing a decade in the industry, Farah said, "We [Deepika Padukone and Farah] were discussing the same in Alibaug when we met [during Shah Rukh Khan's pre-birthday bash]. I was telling her that it will be her 10th birthday this year."
She further added, "I am very proud of her. From being from a completely non-filmy background to not knowing acting to becoming the topmost heroine of the country and a fabulous actor. It is not just that she is an actress but also a commercial heroine. I think she can dance, look glamorous and also act and a very few people have that. She has managed her career extremely well and I am very very proud of her."
