The fourth film of the Housefull franchise has been facing the heat ever since Nana Patekar and Sajid Khan were accused of sexual harassment with the onset of the MeToo movement in India. While Nana has been alleged of harassing Tanushree Dutta in 2008 on the sets of Horn Ok Pleass, Sajid was accused by three women including a journalist, an actor and an assistant director of harassing them sexually. With the movement gaining momentum, Sajid had to step down as the director of Housefull 4 while Nana too walked away from the movie. '
Akshay Kumar too had tweeted that he has asked the producers to stall the movie's shoot till things don't get clear but seems like with Farhad Samji taking over the movie as the director, the team is all set to begin shooting tomorrow. A source exclusively informed that the team starts shooting tomorrow sans Sajid. A big set has been build at the Chitrakoot Ground in Mumbai. Housefull 4 stars Kriti Sanon, Riteish Deshmukh, Pooja Hegde among others.
Meanwhile, Sajid in a tweet said that he is shocked at the allegations made against him and that the media should not pass judgement without truth being known. His sister Farah Khan expressed her shock and said that it is a difficult time for the family and that she does not endorse this behaviour in any way. Close friend Farhan Akhtar too said that he is shocked.
