Netflix releases stills of highly anticipated drama DP; Snowdrop star Jung Hae In looks dashing in a uniform

Netflix has officially released the first stills of the upcoming original Korean series "D.P." starring Jung Jae In, Koo Kyo Hwan, Son Seok Koo and Kim Sung Kyun. Based on a webtoon, D.P., an acronym for Deserter Pursuit, is a military drama that follows a soldier Ahn Joon Ho (Jung Hae In) who was delegated to track down military deserters. Private Ahn Joon Ho witnesses the struggles of each one of those he managed to track down.

With the upcoming drama and a closer look into issues within the military, the original webtoon by Kim Bo Tong has been a huge hit and attracted over 10 million readers in Korea. Kim Bo Tong is known for his award-winning webtoon, Amanza, which has also been adapted to K-Drama by the same name in 2020. The six-episode series would be produced by Lezhin Studio in collaboration with Homemade Film.

Actor Jung Jae In who gained fame in the industry as the embodiment of The Second Lead Syndrome plays Private Ahn Joon Ho who is assigned to D.P. This would be his third appearance as an officer; his first being a police officer in While You Were Sleeping and then as an elite soldier in Prison Playbook. The other major characters of the series Corporal Han Ho Yul played by "Jane" star Koo Kyo Hwan, Sergeant Park Bum Gu played by "The Fiery Priest" actor Kim Sung Kyun, and First Lieutenant Im Ji Sup played by "Matrimonial Chaos" actor Son Seok Koo.

In the first image, we see Jung Hae In as Private Ahn Joon Ho in what seems to be his camouflage uniform. We see the badge tape signifying him as a part of the army of the Republic of Korea. His hardhat and armband are inscribed with the words "Military Police". In the second picture, we see Private Ahn Joon Ho with Corporal Han Ho Yul and both look not very clean. They might be chasing after one of the deserters but that's still speculation.

The stills do pique our curiosity for the upcoming drama and we can't help but wonder how similar, or different, it would be in comparison to the webtoon.
