Pataakha Box Office Collection Day 2: Sanya Malhotra and Radhika Madan's film shows limited growth
Sanya Malhotra and Radhika Madan's film Pataakha, directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, showed limited growth of Day 2 at the box office. Along with Sanya and Radhika, Pataakha also stars Sunil Grover in a pivotal role.
Sanya Malhotra was a revelation as Babita Phogat in the Aamir Khan blockbuster movie, Dangal (2016). Two years later, Sanya stars in a Vishal Bhardwaj film and accompanying her is Radhika Madan and funny man Sunil Grover. Titled Pataakha, the movie has all the Bhardwaj quirky flavours and is based on Charan Singh Pathik's short story Do Behnein. In Pataakha, Sanya and Radhika play two sisters who are constantly at each other's throats. Sunil plays their cousin, who adds fuel to the fire.
Pataakha released along with Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma starrer Sui Dhaaga - Made in India on Friday i.e. September 28, 2018. The opening day collections of Pataakha were very poor at just Rs 90 lakh, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh. Day 2 i.e. Saturday saw limited growth for Sanya and Radhika's film as it collected Rs 1.40 crore. The total collections for Pataakha now stand at Rs 2.30 crore (Friday - Rs 90 lakh, Saturday - Rs 1.40 crore), which is still less for Bhardwaj's film.
Taran tweeted, "#Pataakha shows positive trending on Day 2, but needs to recover lost ground by maintaining a strong momentum on Day 3 and subsequent days... Will get advantage of holiday on Day 5 [Tue]... Fri 90 lakhs, Sat 1.40 cr. Total: ₹ 2.30 cr [875 screens]. India biz."

While Sui Dhaaga received mixed reviews, Pataakha received rave reviews from the critics and Sanya, Radhika and Sunil's performances were lauded.
