EXCLUSIVE: Katrina Kaif gives her nod to Sidharth Malhotra’s Vikram Batra biopic?
Sidharth Malhotra is all set to be seen playing the role of brave martyr Vikram Batra in the film tentatively titled Sher Shah. Now reports have it, Katrina Kaif is likely to be seen opposite Sidharth.
Karan Johar recently announced Sidharth Malhotra’s new film - Sher Shah, a biopic on the life of the brave martyr Vikram Batra. The movie has been in the news for quite some time now and Malhotra had spoken about being approached for it during the promotions of Aiyaary.
The movie, which is being helmed by Vishnu Varadhan, goes on floors this year. Earlier the movie was slated to begin in May. However, things got a bit delayed. While Sidharth is now prepping up for the ambitious character, the leading lady of the movie hasn’t been announced yet.
Though the official announcement hasn’t happened yet, a source close to the film informed us that the crew has approached Katrina Kaif for the same. “Katrina Kaif has been in talks with the team and the actress has given her nod too. Katrina initially had given a chunk of dates for Bharat for which she was approached. However, things didn’t work out in that movie which is now being done by Priyanka Chopra. When Katrina was offered this movie, she was more than happy to give her dates. The official paperwork is yet to happen,” reveals our source.
Well, if this film does work out, it will be the second time that Sidharth and Katrina will be up teaming up together. Their first film together was Baar Baar Dekho. We tried to get in touch with Katrina’s team as well as the official spokesperson of Dharma Productions and are waiting for a revert.
