Touted to be a romantic spoof comedy, Arjun Patiala is based on a gabru cop played by Diljit Dosanjh who gets appointed as the Chief of Ferozpur Police Station. He plans to break the rules of the legal system to make Ferozpur a crime-free district. He falls in love with reporter Ritu Randhawa essayed by Kriti Sanon.

Punjab’s superstar Diljit Dosanjh and Fukrey actor Varun Sharma make you laugh in parts. Kriti Sanon and Diljit Dosanjh's chemistry goes unnoticed due to the lack of a gripping script. The first half manages to leave you with some light moments, but the second half makes it equally difficult to keep you glued to the screen. Sunny Leone's item number is literally forced. Diljit's absolute innocence and Kriti's simplicity is effortless. Varun popularly known as Chucha gives you some breathing space, but he gets restricted due to an amateurish script.

The film which starts on an entertaining note then becomes silly and absurd with the direction. Ronit Roy, Seema Pahwa, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub are completely wasted in the film. Pankaj Tripathi never fails to entertain, and this time, he was no different with whatever little he was offered.

Music keeps the North flavour intact. Songs like Main Deewana Tera is a complete Bollywood tadka. Sachiya Mohabbatan is an out and out Punjabi track which also justifies with the movie's Punjabi setting.

In a nutshell, there are a few good comic scenes, but many forced scenes which are intended to make the audience laugh hamper the credibility.
