Nikhil Advani's 'Hero' starring debutantes Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty opened well at the box office by collecting 6.85 crores on day one, being the second highest movie starring debutantes.

On day 2, the movie was steady and has notched Rs. 6.62 crores. Amar Butala, COO of Salman Khan Films shared the film's collections on twitter and posted, "#HERO is rock steady on Saturday ! Rs. 6.62 cr. day 2! @soorajpancholi9 @theathiyashetty @BeingSalmanKhan."

The grand total of two days has now gone to Rs. 13.47 crores, which is decent but the failure to grow on Saturday, may make it tough in long run.

Interestingly, according to Box Office India, Heropanti' last year opened to Rs. 6.50 crores on day one and went on to do a 21 crores weekend. However, 'Heropanti' had no threat from big releases whereas 'Hero' has a good hold over by 'Welcome Back' that released last week and has 'Katti Batti' releasing next week.

Meanwhile, John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar and Shruti Haasan starrer 'Welcome Back' has shown good growth on its second Saturday. The film earned Rs. 4.25 crores, taking the total business of the film to 80 crore nett in nine days. The first two days of week two for Welcome Back are as follows.
