Box Office Collection Day 1: THIS is how much Panipat and Pati Patni Aur Woh garnered on the opening day

The opening day box office collection of the Kriti Sanon and Arjun Kapoor starrer Panipat and Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday starrer Pati Patni Aur Woh is out. As per Box Office India's early estimate report, Panipat which is a period drama saw a poor opening with Rs 3.5-4 crore and the same is lower than Marjaavaan and Commando 3.

On the other hand, Pati Patni Aur Woh did well at the ticket windows with collections of Rs 8.5-9 crore. The collections are more than Luka Chuppi and making it Kartik Aryan's highest opening day collection this year. As per reports, the movie may see more growth on Saturday and Sunday and will have a good weekend and three-day total.

As per the same report, the movie has done decent business all over, however, the Delhi / UP circuits have garnered the best numbers. For the unversed, we had earlier reported the occupancy as well of both the movies. The period film had an occupancy of around 8-10 percent and on the other hand, the comedy-drama saw office occupancy of 20-25 percent.

Speaking of the movies, the epic war drama is directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar and is based on the Third Battle of Panipat. The movie boasts ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, Mohnish Bahl, Padmini Kolhapure and Zeenat Aman among others. The romantic comedy is directed by Mudassar Aziz and produced by Renu Ravi Chopra.
