Kalank Box Office Collection Day 4: Alia Bhatt & Varun Dhawan starrer witnesses a rough run on the weekend
Kalank's box office collection report for day 4, Saturday, is out and looks like the film did not show much growth. Despite having the biggest opening of 2019, Kalank has failed to rise to the occasion in the following days.
The multi-starrer Kalank starring Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur seems to be having a rough run at the box office. Kalank's box office collection report for day 4, Saturday, is out and looks like the film did not show much growth at the multiplexes and single screens. Despite having the biggest opening of 2019, Kalank failed to rise to the occasion in the following days. Despite a Good Friday holiday attached to the weekend, the film raked in only Rs 9.25 crore on Saturday.
According to a report in Box Office India, the total collection of Kalank is now up to Rs 51.50 crore. The report also adds that the Karan Johar production will most likely not seen an improvement in box office sales on Sunday. The film does have a chance of entering the Rs 100 crore club but given the film's collections on Saturday, it is doubtful that Kalank may hit the spot.
The weekday collections are likely to fizzle out. There was some growth for the film in places like Gujarat and Bengal but the numbers won't make any difference to the overall picture. The film will also see a tough fight next week as Marvel's highly anticipated film Avengers: Endgame releases on April 26, further eating up into Kalank's box office sales. 
Well, Kalank's numbers only reiterate the fact that grand sets, a mixed bag of songs and leading stars are not enough for a film to sail through happily. The right story and script still need to be the backbone of a blockbuster film. Have you watched Kalank? Let us know in the comments below.
