Kedarnath Box Office Collection Day 1: Sara Ali Khan & Sushant Singh Rajput’s film has an ordinary start

Sara Ali Khan and Sushant Singh Rajput's Kedarnath released today i.e. December 7, 2018. The film opened to mixed reviews but according to reports, Kedarnath had an ordinary opening of 15-20%.

Ever since it was announced that Sara Ali Khan will be making her Bollywood debut with Abhishek Kapoor’s Kedarnath, everyone has been waiting to see Sara on the silver screen. While the buzz around the film was at an all-time high, the film has opened to mix reviews. According to a report in Box Office India, the film has had an ordinary opening of 15-20%. Though the film has opened to mixed reviews, Sara’s performance has been praised by all. “The opening was not good but it's not too bad either,” the Box Office India report states, adding that Kedarnath “can make an impact over the weekend, if it can grow as the opening day number will not be bad.”

The film is set against the backdrop of 2013 Kedarnath floods, and the story revolves around a Hindu pilgrim named Mukku aka Sara, who meets Mansoor aka Sushant during her trip to Kedarnath and in the course of time, the two fall in love. Trade expert Girish Johar told Pinkvilla, “ I feel that the Box office should be somewhere around Rs. 5 to 6 crores on its Day 1 and then it depends on how the expectations of the audience vis-a-vis the actual content because you always go inside with certain expectations, whatever it is.”

While the film has had an ordinary start but reports suggest that “A good jump on Saturday could give it a good second day but will depend on the public reports. The film is likely to have best collections in Delhi NCR and the multiplexes of big cities in UP.” After Kedarnath, Sara Ali Khan will be next seen in Rohit Shetty’s Simmba opposite Ranveer Singh and the film will release on December 28, 2018.
