EXCLUSIVE: Did you know Deepika Padukone & Laxmi Agarwal spoke about her attack much before Chhapaak happened?

Deepika Padukone has already begun shooting for her movie Chhapaak which chronicles the life of a an acid attack survivor. The actress plays the role of Malti in the movie, which will be based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. The movie is being directed by none other than Raazi director Meghna Gulzar and also stars Vikrant Massey in lead role. The first look for the movie was unveiled on Monday as the team started shooting for it and Deepika not only won hearts but also praises for taking up such an important subject.

However, did you know Deepika and Laxmi discussed and spoke about the acid attack and her ordeal much before Chhhapaak happened? According to an exclusive scoop received by us, Deepika and Laxmi met in 2014 at NDTV Indian of The Year award where they met and spoke about the issue and her journey at the event. Laxmi shared how she collected herself and rose from the incident during the meeting.

It is sheer co-incidence that Deepika will be seen stepping into her shoes of Laxmi in the movie which releases in January next year. The Piku actor tweeted, "A character that will stay with me forever...#Malti Shoot begins today!#Chhapaak Releasing-10th January, 2020.@meghnagulzar @foxstarhindi @masseysahib." Releasing alongside Chhapaak would be Ajay Devgn's Tanhaji- The Unsung Warrior which will also be hitting the screens on Jan 10 next year.
