Trust Sujoy Ghosh to present a crime thriller with a tinge of layered humour and direction. If Kahaani blowed your mind, Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu’s Badla keep us engaged with the innumerable twists and turns in the first half. Bachchan as the lawyer, Badal Gupta, is intriguing as he tries to break Taapsee (Naina Sethi) with his wordplay. But, who is playing whom? Well, that’s for us to witness in the second half.

Meanwhile, Amitabh Bachchan’s flamboyance and ability to hook us to the screen with his baritone and straight face hasn’t changed a bit, while Taapsee manages to show vulnerability and guilt with a flair.

Hoping for some mind-boggling twist in the second half!
