Box Office Report: Akshay’s Airlift Has a Fabulous Opening Weekend!
Looks like with Airlift Akshay Kumar is all set to deliver another box office hit! Released on Jan 22, the film did well in its first weekend, grossing INR 44.30 crore at the box office. The film had a decent start but picked very well in the evening followed by huge growth on Saturday. As the bulk of the business is from big cities, huge Sunday growth was always going to be difficult but it still managed to show a nice jump.
The first day business on Friday was INR 12.35 crore nett, Saturday it jumped to INR 14.60 crore nett and on Sunday, the box office collections were INR 17.35 crore nett. The best business is in Mumbai, Delhi / UP and East Punjab while Mysore showed a huge jump on Saturday.
With Jan 26 being a national holiday, it might help the film’s business at the ticket window. As no big release is coming up in the following weekend, Airlift may emerge as a box office winner; the first hit of 2016!
