If Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety made Kartik Aaryan an overnight sensation, his latest release Luka Chuppi is another feather on Aaryan's cap. With Luka Chuppi, the actor has surpassed his own record which was made by Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety by almost 2 crores difference in opening day figures. While Luka Chuppi, also starring Kriti Sanon collected around Rs 8.01 crores on its opening day, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, also starring Nushrat Bharucha collected around Rs 6.42 crores on its first day.
This is indeed a great news for Kartik. Not just SKTKS, Luka Chuppi also crossed first day figures of Ayushmann Khurrana's Badhaai Ho, Rajkummar Rao's Stree and Alia Bhatt's Raazi. The actor really looks on a roll with this with the positive word of mouth to only add to the weekend collections. This is the first time Kriti and Kartik collaborated for a movie and it looks like a hit already. Luka Chuppi focuses on the concept of 'live-in' relationships. The movie has been produced by Dinesh Vijan and directed by Laxman Utekar.
Next in line, Kartik has an Imtiaz Ali movie opposite Sara Ali Khan which is a huge feat for the actor. About his pairing with Sara, Kareena Kapoor Khan on Koffee With Karan 6 said that they would make for a decent pair. "He is massy, she is classy," she said.
