Simran vs Lucknow Central Day 2 Box Office Collection: Farhan Akhtar's movie lags behind Kangana Ranaut starrer

Kangana Ranaut's Simran clashed with Farhan Akhtar's Lucknow Central last Friday. While Simran is about a Gujarati NRI Praful Patel who is a kleptomaniac, Lucknow Central is about an aspiring Bhojpuri singer who is in jail. 

The Day 2 business for Simran stands at INR 3.35-3.45 crore nett according to a trade site, which is up by around 40 percent from Day 1. The total box office collection for the movie is INR 5.83 crore approx (INR 2.43 crore + INR 3.40 crore). Now the final outcome will be determined on Monday's box-office collection so as to determine the fate of the movie. 

The Day 2 business for Lucknow Central saw a growth of 50 percent but lags behind Simran as it collected INR 2.60-2.70 crore nett, according to the trade site. The total collections for the movie stand at INR 4.39 crore approx (INR 1.74 crore + INR 2.65 crore).

Talking about the early estimates, Akshaye Rathi had told Pinkvilla, "Both Simran and Lucknow Central will not open big at the box office. The collections will be between Rs 2-2.5 crore on the opening day for Simran as well as Lucknow Central. Both films have been made with a limited budget and will rely on word of mouth to grow their box office collections." 

Simran is directed by Hansal Mehta and Lucknow Central is directed by Ranjit Tiwari.
